Christine Wue is a certified Pilates Instructor, a Level 2 certified GYROTONIC® Instructor and an orthopedic massage therapist. She was first introduced to the Pilates method at an equestrian training clinic. Immediately she saw the application of Pilates in her riding and the potential for physical and mental development that could be applied to many aspects of life. She embarked on her journey of body awareness and became certified by Jean Sullivan, co-founder of Integrated Teacher Training and has been teaching since 2004.
To further expand her teaching repertoire, Christine became certified in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and has studied with Master Trainers Debra Rose, Christine Wilson, Lisa-Marie Goodwin and Kathy Van Patten. She is also certified on the GYROTONER™, the Archway and the Leg Extension Unit. Living with the chronic effects of scoliosis, she revels in the benefits of the 3-dimensional spiraling system of GYROTONIC®. Christine became a massage therapist through the Hendrickson Method and finds that clients experience lasting positive changes to their bodies from the combination of the Hendrickson Method, Pilates and GYROTONIC®.
Christine encourages clients to find a deeper understanding of their body as it relates to principles of movement, while teaching self-awareness, body control, articulation of joints, and mobilization of the spine. She has experience in working with a wide range of clients, some of whom have stroke and rehabilitation injuries, pre and post-partum, shoulder and hip injuries and triathletes. She utilizes her knowledge and passion to create a learning environment that is relaxed, engaging and fun for all ages and body types.
Lynn Huang discovered GYROTONIC® in 2000. Inspired by the way it changed her body and improved her dancing, she dedicated herself to assisting individuals in surmounting physical limitations and developing greater strength, flexibility, and freedom to move through GYROTONIC®. She has studied with GYROTONIC® Master Trainers Nathan Martin, Kathy Van Patten, and Nora Heiber and received certifications in GYROTONIC® Level 1 & 2, GYROKINESIS®, the Archway and the Leg Extension Unit. She loves working with people of all ages and movement backgrounds and has had the privilege of training a wide range of people from desk-bound professionals to professional dancers to grandmothers. She commits herself to understanding her clients, knowing how they need to be challenged, and customizing workouts to bring them to the next level, meet their objectives, and cultivate self-awareness.
Trained in modern dance, ballet, and Chinese dance, she has performed throughout the US and abroad with choreographers from New York City and the Bay Area. She was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to study ethnic minority dance at Minzu University Dance Conservatory in Beijing, China.
A native of New York, she graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University with a degree in English Literature. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring San Francisco eateries, travel, and finding the best cup of coffee wherever she is.
Shannan’s life revolved around total health from a young age. Growing up, Shannan played multiple sports, which eventually led to her passion for body movement. She was introduced to yoga in 2000 to help with muscle mobility and was immediately fascinated with the correlation between the mind and the body. She quickly became a Certified Yoga Instructor, completing her training through YogaWorks in San Francisco. Through the comprehensive program, she acquired a unique understanding of yoga traditions from East and West, blending Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Viniyoga techniques. Shannan has studied under Erika Trice, Nikki Estrada, Max Strom and Stacie Overby and values precise alignment, rhythmic movement, breath cultivation, and refined awareness in her teaching. She has taught a variety of practitioners ranging from youthful athletes, to 80-year-old students and believes that yoga is for everyone.
To further expand her knowledge on health and movement, Shannan became certified in Pilates through the Stott system and the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, studying under Master Trainer Debra Rose.
Shannan also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and is a Certified Integrative Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. During her education, she studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. She has hosted wellness workshops in-group forums, along with working one-on-one with clients to achieve unique health goals.
Erin is a certified Pilates instructor with experience teaching in Los Angeles, New York CIty and San Francisco. She was certified in equipment and mat Pilates under master teacher Marie Jose Blom at Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2010. In Los Angeles, Erin taught at Pilates Eagle Rock, Le Pilates Loft and was also the Pilates instructor for the Cirque Du Soleil show Iris where she worked in conjunction with the company’s physical therapists, helping the performers remain strong and pain free.
Upon moving to New York City in 2012, she taught at Progressive Pilates Williamsburg, Greenhouse Holistic and the Brooklyn Grange - the country’s largest rooftop farm. It was in NYC that she was introduced to Ortho Bionomy, a system of healing that reminds the body of its natural ability to restore balance. Erin is currently training in OB and has been successfully integrating it into her Pilates sessions to help her clients find the best alignment from which to strengthen.
Erin’s commitment to continuing education has led her to study the sacrum and rib cage with Madeline Black, hypermobility with Rebekah Rotstein, Anatomy Trains with Tom Myers, Material For the Spine with Steve Paxton (originator of Contact Improvisation) and scoliosis with Marie Jose Blom and Michele Larsson. She has experience working with clients of all ages and bodies including those with SI joint dysfunction, hypermobility, disc issues, scoliosis and also pre and postpartum clients. Her background in modern dance is also a great influence on her teaching, and she continues to enjoy performing and choreographing.

Alexis Mian discovered Pilates as the solution to the limitations she kept running into during her lifelong dance practice. She received a B.A. in Theater Studies from Stanford and the M.F.A. in Dance from Mills College, and went on to dance professionally for a number of contemporary choreographers in San Francisco. Always curious about movement, her study and practice have included many Eastern & Western movement forms, including yoga, qi gong, and Thai kickboxing. In 2005, she and her husband Mark founded the alternative fitness center AlterCenter, which they created as their laboratory for human potential, and develop fitness not as an end in itself, but as a medium to develop the many facets of human being: Artist, Warrior, Explorer, & Maker. Alexis has trained other professional dancers & athletes, worked with people of all ages (10-92), worked with women through all stages of pregnancy, and is also trained as a birth doula.
Kristin Torok is a Pilates instructor, a GYROTONIC® certified trainer in Level 1 and Level 2 and in GYROTONIC® specialized equipment such as the Ladder, the Jumping Stretching Board, the Leg Extension Unit, and the Gyrotoner. She is also certified in GYROKINESIS® and has completed workshops in GYROTONIC®for Golfers and GYROTONIC® for herniated discs. Her other movement training includes a BFA degree in dance from Cornish College of the Arts, certifications in Laban and Bartenieff Movement Analysis, Aston Techniques 1 and 2 of the Aston Patterning System, and the Bill Evans Modern Dance Technique.
Kristin’s background in modern dance has led her to a lifelong commitment in the study of movement. She continues to find ways to refine her teaching skill and techniques to aid and improve her clients strength, flexibility and body awareness and enhance and empower them with healthy and efficient movement patterns. Kristin has found teaching to be both satisfying and rewarding and passes her knowledge, enjoyment and passion for moving, conditioning, and personal improvement onto her clients.
