Christine Wue is a certified Pilates and GYROTONIC® Instructor and an orthopedic massage therapist. She was first introduced to the Pilates method at an equestrian training clinic. Immediately she saw the application of Pilates in her riding and the potential for physical and mental development that could be applied to many aspects of life. She embarked on her journey of body awareness and became certified by Jean Sullivan, co-founder of Integrated Teacher Training and has been teaching since 2004.

To further expand her teaching repertoire, Christine became certified in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and has studied with Master Trainers Debra Rose, Christine Wilson and Lisa-Marie Goodwin. She is also certified on the GYROTONER™ and the Archway. Living with the chronic effects of scoliosis, she revels in the benefits of the 3-dimensional spiraling system of GYROTONIC®. Christine became a massage therapist through the Hendrickson Method and finds that clients experience lasting positive changes to their bodies from the combination of the Hendrickson Method, Pilates and GYROTONIC®.

Emily Rupp
Certified Pilates Instructor

Emily discovered Pilates in the middle of an icy winter in Paris. She usually enjoyed running for exercise, but as a Native Californian she found the cold, dark streets rather uninviting. During a snow blizzard one night, a show about Pilates aired on French TV. Exercise indoors without suffering through the gym! She had to try it.

By 2006, Emily had completed her Pilates certification with Romana Kryzonowska in New York. Since then, she has helped clients prepare for triathlons and recover from surgeries. As an athlete, she appreciates how Pilates can be used to both improve performance and rehabilitate injuries, and she enjoys the challenge of creating Pilates programs tailored to each clients abilities and fitness goals.

Emily's academic background in anthropology gives her a unique perspective on Pilates. She received a B.A. in anthropology from UC Santa Cruz in 2003, and an M.A. in Asia Pacific Studies and Mandarin Chinese from the University of San Francisco in 2010. She is interested in exploring the relationships between health, culture and psychology. She also finds it fascinating that the Pilates world has developed its own culture, use of language, and folklore, which continue to evolve over time. One day, she plans to continue her studies and earn a PhD in anthropology.

In addition to Pilates, Emily practices yoga, running, and archery. She also speaks Mandarin Chinese and French
